Meribel ski area overview:

Méribel is a renowned ski resort in the French Alps, nestled in the heart of the Tarentaise Valley in the Savoie region. Part of the expansive Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallées), the world’s largest interconnected ski area, Méribel offers access to over 600 kilometers of skiable terrain. The resort itself sits at an altitude of 1,450 to 1,700 meters, with its highest skiable point reaching 2,952 meters at Mont Vallon.

The resort of Meribel is actually four connected villages: The traditional village of Les Allues at 1100m located at the base of the Meribel valley; Meribel Village at 1400m, just to the north of Meribel centre; Meribel Centre at 1450m, which as the name suggests, is the centre of the resort and contains the most facilities, shops, nightlife and the main ski lift. Typically this is the priciest area to stay and the most popular with visitors. lastly Meribel Mottaret at 1750m - the highest of the 4 resorts connected to the centre by bus or down a gentle green piste 'Truite'. Meribel Mottaret is quieter and has numerous French hotels and self-catered apartments.

Méribel is celebrated for its picturesque alpine charm, with traditional chalet-style architecture that blends harmoniously with the surrounding snow-covered landscapes. The resort caters to all levels of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with a variety of slopes, including wide, gentle runs and challenging off-piste opportunities.

Beyond skiing, Méribel provides a vibrant après-ski scene, with a wide array of bars, restaurants, and shops. The resort is also family-friendly, offering activities such as ice skating, snowshoeing, and wellness centers. For the more adventurous, there's the option to explore off-piste routes or even try paragliding.
